You’ve probably seen plenty of reminder emails and texts from doctors’ offices this time of year about using your FSA benefits. But what exactly is an FSA—and how does it relate to your vision care? At Casey Optical Colorado, we want to help you make the most of every dollar in your vision benefits, whether you need an annual eye exam, a new pair of glasses, contact lenses, or specialty lenses and coatings.
Vision Insurance generally covers routine eye exams, frames, lenses and contact lenses under a separate benefit from your medical plan.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a tax‐advantaged account where you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses, including vision care.
We accept most major vision insurance and will check your eligibility with you, so you know in advance what your coverage provides (exam, frames, lenses, allowances, etc.).
We accept FSA / HSA funds for qualifying vision expenses—frames, prescription sunglasses, lens upgrades (anti-glare, photochromic), contact lenses and more.
We’ll walk you through how insurance + FSA can work together!
Know your benefit period: Many vision plans are annual (once every 12 months) for exam + lenses + frame allowance. If you don’t use them within the period, you lose them.
Use your FSA early: Since many FSAs are use-it-or-lose-it (or only allow a small carryover), it’s wise to plan major vision purchases so you don’t forfeit funds.
Schedule your exam before the end of 2025! Call us (303) 798-7520 or visit caseyopticalcolorado.com
